Discover the Seven Churches of Revelation which are located in western Turkey.Seven Churches Of The Revelation1. Ephesus 1:11;2:1-72. Smyrna 2:8-113. Pergamon 2:12-174. Thyatira 2:18-295. Sardis 3:1-66. Philadelphia 3:7-137. Laodicea 3:14-22** On Mondays, when St. Sophia is closed, we visit the Chora Church, famed for its mosaics. ** On Tuesdays, when Topkapi Palace is closed, this tour is not offered.
Tour Program
Day 1 : Arrive Istanbul Airport
Our representative will meet you after the customs and baggage claim. Transfer to the hotel. Afternoon Boat Tour along the Bosphorus visiting both Asian and European shores of Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2 : Istanbul
Full day Istanbul tour: the Roman Hippodrome Square, Blue Mosque with its beautiful blue tiles, St. Sophia Church, built by Constantine the Great and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, one of the worlds greatest architectural marvels and a designated World Heritage site, Topkapi Palace, the Imperial Residential Palace of the Ottoman sultans between the 16th and 19th centuries and the oldest and largest of the remaining palaces in the world. Its displays include priceless world-class collections of jewelry, porcelain and costumes of the sultans. Then visit the Istanbul Archaeology Museum. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay. (B)
Day 3 : Istanbul - Izmir - Pergamon - Thyatira
Transfer to Istanbul airport for your flight to Izmir. Arrival to Izmir airport, meet and departure to visit Pergamon (Pergamon Revelation 2:12-17), the Acropolis, the Asclepion and the Red Basilica. Then drive to Akhisar to visit the Church of ancient Thyatira (Thyatira Revelation 2:18-29 Acts 16:14) which was a commercial and agricultural center on the highway between Troy and Sardes. Return back to Izmir for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
